Responsibilities:
Product Manager services for Defence Digital. MOD will prioritise the items in the backlog but will not supervise, direct or control how the work is delivered. Specifically:
Service Roadmap
- A living roadmap showing quarterly and long-term plans for feature development, integrations and enhancements.
- Aligned to strategic needs.
- Prioritised based on feedback, maturity assessment and operational needs.
- A transparent mechanism for managing requests.
- Regularly reviewed, with stakeholder engagement.
- Roadmap linked to value and service maturity categories.
- Live view of risks (security, delivery, adoption), mitigations and assurance activities.
- Connection to the Governance and Assurance pillars.
- Regular updates to governance bodies.
- Comms for app teams and service users: onboarding guides, policy changes, etc.
- Community engagement: show-and-tells, changelogs, Q&A sessions
- Roadmapping & prioritisation.
- Understanding of the MOD technical environment & compliance
- Independent product leadership.
Strategic Roadmapping & Prioritisation
- Ability to create and continuously evolve a clear, outcome-driven roadmap that:
- Aligns with strategic goals ○ Covers short-term (quarterly) and long-term planning
- Prioritises work based on value, feedback, and service maturity
- A structured, transparent approach to handling requests:
- Managing and prioritising the backlog
- Applying a consistent framework for decision-making
- Engaging stakeholders in regular review cycles
- Capability to operate independently without direct supervision:
- Defining how work is delivered
- Making decisions and setting direction
- Translating client priorities into execution
- Experience of the Defence Digital technical estate.
- Stakeholder engagement & comms.
- Product maturity & value measurement
