If you’ve owned a growth metric on a consumer product with millions of users, and wished you could go from finding the insight to shipping the fix yourself, read on.

An AI start-up backed by a top-tier Silicon Valley VC launched its consumer agent at the end of September. The agent makes calls, sends emails, and books and pays for everyday tasks on the user’s behalf. Usage has grown about tenfold since launch, with users in over 100 countries. Nobody owns data or growth yet. You would.

Your first job is to work out what’s actually driving that growth. That means finding which tasks people try first, how one use turns into a habit, where people drop off, and which moments get them sharing it with friends. Back-office tasks like accounting are an early pattern, so that’s likely where you’d start. From there you’d build the event tracking and dashboards the whole team runs on. You’d also segment users, design experiments that hold up statistically, and ship the changes yourself or with the engineers.

The team is small and flat. The founder used to lead engineering at one of the world’s leading AI labs, and the engineers come from Google, Amazon and similar companies. You’d work directly with the founder and decide how the company measures success from here on.

Base salary depends on level, and equity comes on top. You can be based in San Francisco or work remotely from anywhere, and H-1B transfers are supported. There are three interview stages, and strong candidates can get an offer within a week. This is an early-stage company in its breakout month, so expect a fast pace and the odd weekend.

You’ll need:

  • Experience driving growth at scale, either at a Series C+ company or on a high-growth team in big tech
  • SQL, Python, statistics and experiment design
  • Event tracking and dashboards you’ve built from scratch
  • A record of turning analysis into shipped product changes
  • To be willing to work in Go once you’re in the job

A social or consumer growth background (Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest or similar) would stand out.

If this sounds like your next move, drop me a message. I’ll share more, including how to try the product.
