Senior Android Developer
Android Developer   Join a growing digital product team building and evolving customer-facing applications used by a large audience. As an Android Developer, you’ll play a key role in shaping the mobile experience, developing modern features with Kotlin and Jetpack Compose, and delivering accessible, high-quality applications that customers can rely on.   You’ll work within a cross-functional domain team that takes end-to-end ownership of the customer experience across Android, iOS and web. This means looking beyond a single platform to help deliver seamless, consistent experiences for customers.   While Android will be your primary focus, you’ll also have the opportunity to contribute to web development using Angular and TypeScript, collaborating with engineers across different technologies to find the best solutions.   Your Responsibilities   Develop and maintain high-quality Android applications that are reliable, scalable, efficient and accessible. Take ownership of the Android development lifecycle, from planning and implementation through testing, release and ongoing monitoring. Collaborate with engineers across Android, iOS, web and backend development to deliver cohesive customer experiences. Contribute beyond Android when needed, particularly to web applications built with Angular and TypeScript. Help shape technical solutions at a product and domain level, prioritising the overall customer experience rather than a single platform. Manage app releases and monitor performance using tools such as Firebase, maintaining high standards of quality and reliability. Stay up to date with developments in the Android ecosystem and introduce relevant technologies, tools and engineering practices. Support the wider team through code reviews, technical guidance, pair programming and knowledge sharing. Learn from colleagues across different disciplines and contribute to a culture of collaboration, shared ownership and continuous improvement.   What Makes You a Great Fit   At least three years of hands-on Android development experience using Kotlin, the Android SDK and established Jetpack libraries. Practical experience with Jetpack Compose and modern Android development practices. A strong understanding of software architecture and design patterns, including Clean Architecture and MVVM. Experience writing maintainable, testable code, including unit, integration and UI tests. Confidence working with REST APIs, JSON and web service integrations. Familiarity with modern development workflows and CI/CD tools, such as GitHub Actions. Strong analytical, debugging and problem-solving skills. A good understanding of UX principles, with attention to detail around layouts, accessibility and user interactions. Curiosity about technologies beyond Android and a willingness to contribute to web development using TypeScript and Angular. Previous experience is an advantage, but a willingness to learn is essential. An enthusiasm for sharing knowledge, collaborating across disciplines and learning from others. Good written and verbal communication skills in English. German language skills, or a willingness to learn, would be an advantage.
